Yael Shulman's New Short Film "Pizza From The Heart" Currently in Post-Production!

Recently, I completed shooting my new personal film, "Pizza from the Heart" which is a short documentary about the Upper West Side pizza spot, Sal and Carmine's. Sal and Carmine's has been a staple on the Upper West Side since 1959. There's not many old-world mom and pop shops left in New York City.

Today, Sal and Carmine's is owned and operated by Sal's grandson, Lou. Having gone there since I was a kid, I thought it would be cool to make a film about its rich history.

Since I've shot a ton of personal sports genre films, I wanted to shoot something entirely different. So look out for this film in the next few months. It will be entered into the film festival circuit as well!

Below, are a few stills from my footage, as well as some behind the scenes pictures from the production. Enjoy!
